PUBLIC RULES AND RESTRICTIONS ARE NOT ENOUGH

apcnewsnight-vision-cinema-audience-thumb_mainImage1.jpg1

For most people going to a cinema is a good night out. Only a few realize that they are often subjecting themselves to extreme and privacy invading security measures that most airports could only dream of. Filmgoers are already being carefully watched for suspicious behavior by Big Brother’s cameras, but soon this technology will be upgraded with sophisticated emotion recognition software. QUALCHE FOTO E QUALCHE PAROLINA IN ITALIANO

Continua a leggere

LET IT INSPIRE YOU..

This is my storify on photography! I chose some snapshots from three great photographers: Diane Arbus, Ted Grant and Bieke Depoorter.

A MULTITASKING “SLOWNESS”

“Speed is the form of ecstasy the technical revolution has bestowed on man. As opposed to a motorcyclist, the runner is always present in his body, forever required to think about his blisters, his exhaustion; when he runs he feels his weight, his age, more conscious than ever of himself and of his time of life. This all changes when man delegates the faculty of speed to a machine: from then on, his own body is outside the process, and he gives over to a speed that is noncorporeal, nonmaterial, pure speed, speed itself, ecstasy speed”

SlownessKundera‘Slowness’ is one of the best book I’ve ever read in my life. It was written in 1995 by an extraordinary Milan Kundera. Continua a leggere

AN IDEA OF PRIVACY: MY SHORT REFLECTION

– When did you learn about privacy for the first time?

Our lecturer asked us during this week tutorial. I looked around me and I saw many faces thinking about it. Then I started to think about me and my own idea of privacy. But nothing came to my mind. I’m serious, I don’t really remember when and where I learnt about privacy. Continua a leggere

ASSIGNMENT 1: “THE WINTER SEA”

Eunau is 23, she’s from Geoje Island in South Korea and she’s having an exchange period of study at the University of Wollongong.

A piece of a Korean poetry. Footsteps towards the shore in Northgong beach. Childhood memories. The piano goes together with the sound of the waves and frames feelings surrounding the story.
Then she takes a snapshot, a “click” which shakes her heart. She’d like her family to be in the photo with her.

Wherever we will go, there will always be sounds and images that will link us to our birthplaces. And we will feel home, almost.
