WHAT IS HIDDEN, IN THE HEART…(Assignment 3)

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase…(Martin Luther King, I have a dream, 1963).

When you are sitting at your desk, looking for that story for your piece. You start thinking about many interesting topics, which could engage and entertain your readers. Then, you touch lightly the keybord of your personal computer and type some words on Google. The word I typed was ‘faith’. Continua a leggere

“WHAT IS HIDDEN”, MY PROPOSAL FOR ASSIGNMENT 3

What is hidden is what I can hear in the whisper of my heart when I listen to that voice…the voice of my priest during the service.

My friend replied to me when I asked him, with tongue in cheek, what was hidden for him. But his reply was serious and passionate. And it inspired me. Continua a leggere

A “PROPOSAL” FOR ASSIGNMENT 3

I could be very very short in this post, because actually I haven’t planned anything about the assignment yet. My aim is portraying hidden parts of the story of someone. My idea of “what’s hidden”, indeed, is releted to what many philosophers and scholars said: our story is made up of the consequences and the effects of what hidden people, common people did during their everyday life. Thus, my aim is depicting the story of someone with an allegoric narrative and point out his/her feelings and choices behind a specific moment of his/her life. I have a couple of friends I would like to be the protagonist of my slideshow, but I haven’t received any reply from them yet. So, I hope to give you more details about my assessment project as soon as possible and I apologize for the futility of this post.

NUCLEAR NIGHTMARE vs FIRESTORM

LEAST FAVOURITE:

NUCLEAR NIGHTMARE by Pixel Press

The Chernobil disaster is a catastrophic nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, which was under the direct jurisdiction of the central authorities of the Soviet Union. An explosion and fire released large quantities of radioactive particles into the atmosphere, which spread over much of the western USSR and Europe. The effects of this massive nuclear explosion will disappear in almost 900 years. It is, indeed, the worst nuclear power plant accident in history. Continua a leggere

LET IT INSPIRE YOU..

This is my storify on photography! I chose some snapshots from three great photographers: Diane Arbus, Ted Grant and Bieke Depoorter.

ASSIGNMENT 1: “THE WINTER SEA”

Eunau is 23, she’s from Geoje Island in South Korea and she’s having an exchange period of study at the University of Wollongong.

A piece of a Korean poetry. Footsteps towards the shore in Northgong beach. Childhood memories. The piano goes together with the sound of the waves and frames feelings surrounding the story.
Then she takes a snapshot, a “click” which shakes her heart. She’d like her family to be in the photo with her.

Wherever we will go, there will always be sounds and images that will link us to our birthplaces. And we will feel home, almost.

CRITIC OF ASHLEIGH JOHNSTONE “PISSED-OFF”

I chose to write a short critique of Ashleigh Johnstone’s “Pissed-off” because she faces a very interesting and discussed topic that is the coming-out. It is not easy coming-out at all and many gays prefer remaining anonymous due to the society bias. I have a lot of friends who are gay and just some of them have came-out. Thus, I really appreciated Ashleigh choice. Continua a leggere

WHY I CHOSE THIS STORY

When people tell you a story, it’s like they’re singing you a song. Every voice has its own musicality, its own tone and timbre. And even just a little half-sentence fragment can go in through your ear and tell you something profound about a person’s soul.
